Privacy Policy

Pursuant to Articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR)

This policy applies to the websites christianwaycenter.it and christianwaycenter.org and to the Orante app (iOS and Android).

1. Data we process

Browsing: IP address, browser type, pages visited, access times.
Account and sign-in: name, email, account ID, password (website only). If you sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive your name, email, ID and profile picture. In the app, you sign in with a one-time code sent by email, and your phone keeps an access token (valid for 90 days, up to 5 devices).
App use: progress in the paths, prayers you marked “I’m praying”, users you blocked. Prayers you hide are stored only on your phone.
Prayer Wall: the text and the name you choose (or “Anonymous” or “Brother/Sister”), visible to everyone. A prayer can reveal religious beliefs or other special categories of data (Art. 9 GDPR): publish it only if you wish, and do not include other people’s data. Signed-in app users also see the author’s numeric ID (not the name), which is used to block a user.
Reports: the reason and the user who reported.
Purchases and subscriptions: name, email, orders. Card details are handled by Stripe and PayPal; we do not receive them.
Contacts and newsletter: name, email and phone, if you provide them.
Notifications: if you enable them, your device identifier and language.

2. Why we process it and on what legal basis

To create and manage your account, provide the app, the paths, memberships and purchases (Art. 6.1.b).
Tax and accounting obligations (Art. 6.1.c).
Newsletter and promotional messages, push notifications, statistics and non-technical cookies: with your consent (Art. 6.1.a).
Publishing on the Prayer Wall: with your explicit consent (Art. 9.2.a and 6.1.a), which you give by publishing; you can withdraw it by asking us to remove the prayer.
Security, abuse prevention, moderation of the Prayer Wall and reports (Art. 6.1.f).

There is no automated decision-making and no profiling.

3. How long we keep it

Account, progress, published prayers, blocked-user lists: until the account or the individual prayer is deleted.
App access tokens: 90 days or until you sign out.
Orders and invoices: 10 years (tax law).
Newsletter: until you unsubscribe or delete your account.
Access and security logs: 90 days.
Report emails received by the Controller: 12 months.
Browsing data and statistics: 14 months.

4. Who receives your data

We use providers that process data on our behalf or as independent controllers:

Aruba S.p.A. (Italy): hosting and service emails.
Brevo SAS (France): newsletter and path reminders.
Stripe, PayPal: payments.
OneSignal: push notifications, if you enable them.
Google: sign-in with Google, YouTube, Maps, Analytics (with consent).
Meta Platforms: sign-in with Facebook.
Spreaker: podcast playback. Gravatar (Automattic): profile pictures for users who use it.

We do not sell your data. Some providers are in the USA: transfers take place with the safeguards required by the GDPR (adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses).

5. Deleting your account and data

You can delete your account in three ways: in the app (Profile > Delete account), on the page https://www.christianwaycenter.it/elimina-account/, or by writing to info@christianwaycenter.it. We delete your profile, progress, published prayers and your contact in Brevo, and we cancel any active subscription. Orders and invoices are kept as required by law. To remove a single prayer, write to info@christianwaycenter.it.

6. Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and to withdraw consent at any time. Write to info@christianwaycenter.it or to the PEC address (brunodomenicourso@pec.it). You can lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali): www.garanteprivacy.it.

7. Minors

The service is intended for adults.
